Dry Riser Testing
With the ever-increasing number of high-rise buildings being constructed, dry riser systems have become a major tool for fire-fighters to use to tackle fires within these structures.
Using similar equipment to that the Local Authority Fire Service would use during an operational incident, dry risers are serviced annually in accordance with British Standard 9990/2006 and a full test certificate is issued. British Standard 9990/2006 recommends that the system is visually inspected every 6 months and serviced annually to ensure that the equipment is ready for immediate use in an emergency.

6 Monthly Inspections consists of:
- Checking all valves, leave closed (replace strap and lock if required)
- Replacing all outlet washers (if required)
- Replacing all damaged or missing blank caps and chains (if required)
- Checking that all hand wheels and nuts are undamaged and in place
- Checking landing outlets are free moving and undamaged
- Checking the inlet cabinet and door for corrosion
- Checking that the inlet breaching valve springs and that the
- rubbers are free moving and in good condition
- Checking the glazing and sign in door
- Lubricating all moving parts
(please note that all parts are charged for separately)

Annual Service
The annual service or 'wet test' consists of connecting the main inlet/inlets to a pump and a water supply, using a Fire Appliance. The system is then completely charged with water to a pressure of 10 bar (measured at the inlet) for a period of at least 15 minutes. During this period an inspection of the system is made to check that no leakage of water is taking place at any joint, air release and or landing valves.
Spare Parts
Should there be any missing or damaged parts on the system, or if during the annual service a part is identified as failing, then we are able to provide and fit the necessary components, where appropriate.
