Our Water Rescue Team's operational status is the culmination of over twelve months research, planning and development by the management team at Sharp-Fire. For further information on our Water Rescue Team, please visit the Water Rescue Team page

The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007.

The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 became operative on the 06th of April 2008. The Act sets out a new offence for convicting an organisation where a failure in the way activities were managed or organised results in a person's death. Under a new approach courts will look at management systems and practices across the organisation, providing a more effective means for prosecuting the worst corporate failures to manage Health and Safety properly.

The offence does not require organisations to comply with new regulatory standards, but organisations should ensure they are taking proper steps to meet current legal duties. As of 06/04/08 the Act will mean that those who disregard the safety of others at work, with fatal consequences, are more vulnerable to very serious criminal charges.

NOW is the opportunity for employers to examine how risks are managed within their organisation. As a Director or Manager of a company, can you demonstrate your companies' compliance to Fire Safety legislation? Have your Fire Extinguishers, Fire Alarm and Emergency lights been tested and serviced at the recommended intervals? Have you conducted a Fire Risk Assessment, and are procedures in place to ensure that it is regularly reviewed? Have your Staff received Fire Safety Training and can you demonstrate that your duty of care to your employees has been fulfilled?

Unsure of what to do next, then why not give us a call?
